Richard Milone
Richard Milone has worked as an application developer on the IBM i platform and its various predecessors for 21 years. Currently serving as CNX’s Chief Technical Officer, Richard is dedicated to promoting the IBM i profile, encouraging RPG programmers to expand their development skills beyond the traditional green screen paradigm and into building dynamic Web 2.0 applications that run directly on IBM i. Richard has lectured at COMMON, RPG World and iSeries DevCon about the merits of uniting RPG back-end logic with widely available JavaScript libraries on the front-end, a technical “power combo” that produces IBM i-based applications with state-of-the-art browser interfaces.
Robert Swanson
Robert Swanson has worked as an RPG developer since 1992, focused on integrating ERP applications into traditional plant floor environments. With a background in Industrial Engineering, Rob has been focused on weaning manufacturing and distribution operations from “off-line” reports and spreadsheets, moving them instead into real-time, paperless applications that encourage plant workers to interact with office personnel through intuitive software interfaces. Currently serving as CNX’s President, Rob is a strong advocate of introducing Web 2.0-style applications into conventional IBM i shops as a means to dramatically increase productivity and bolster the image of IBM i as a world-class application server.
